STARTING FROM

Lingana Fort is a massive vertical pinnacle located between Raigad and Torna Fort, in Mahad Taluka of Raigad district. Standing tall at 2,969 ft, this natural rock tower gets its name from its linga-shaped structure.

• Built by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1648, Lingana served as a crucial defence point for central Konkan.
• It was later used as a penal fort, with dungeons capable of holding nearly 50 prisoners.
• In 1818, the fort was captured by Colonel Prother during the British campaign.

Today, Lingana is one of Maharashtra’s most thrilling climbs — challenging, raw, and unforgettable.
